Geometry 10th grade help please!? :)
I dont expect you to do the work just please explain to me how? so that ill get it :P thanks :)
Remember the formula for the sum of the interior angles of an n-sided polygon? You'll need it :-) Then write a sum of all of the angles, set it equal to that formula, and solve for x, then use the value of x to find the desired angle.
I remember learnin about it i think, hang on let me get my notes
You might be able to work out the pattern by thinking about a triangle (interior angles add to 180, 3 sides) and a square (4 right angles, 4 sides, interior angles add to 4*90 = 360)
nope i dont have the formula, could you give it to me? im gettin a little confused :P
whats the first step i have to do?
Okay, formula for the sum of the interior angles of a polygon with n sides: n = 3 (triangle) sum = 180 n = 4 (square) sum = 360 n = 5 (pentagon) sum = 540 n = 6 (hexagon) sum = 720 Do you see a pattern yet?
Take the number of sides, subtract 2, multiply by 180.
You've got 6 sides on that funny-looking thing, so the interior angles add up to (6-2)*180 = 720.
yea i see the pattern :D and ok makes sense whats the next step?
Well, you have the angles specified as numbers or expressions involving \(x\). Write an equation that adds them up and sets them equal to 720. Now solve that for \(x\).
they all equal 180 because theres 4 and 180*4= 720 is this my answer? or are we not done yet
What is the equation you got?
Hint: 1 angle is 134, another is 128, one is 10x - 4, etc. 720 = 134 + 128 + 10x - 4 + ... x = ?
Have you found the value of x yet? Remember, you need to plug that into the formula for the angle F to get the right answer...
