i need help finding the domain and range of y=2x^2-8x+4

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Domain: \(\mathbb{R}\) - Can youthink of a reason why anything wouldn't work in that expression on the right? Range: Complete the square to put it in Vertex Form. It will bcome obvious.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the answer should be that the domain=any real number and the range=y is greater than or equal to -4. but i dont know how to get to that. i learned this a chpt ago and forgot how to do it

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you do what I said in the last post? Domain: What values doesn't work in the right hand expression. If there isn't anything, the Domina is All Real Numbers. Done. Range: Do you know how to "Complete the Square" or have you heard of "Vertex Form"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

never heard of vertex form or maybe i have but it was called something else. complete the square sounds familiar. what is vertex form?
