An orange traffic cone has a diameter of 10 inches and a height of 18 inches. What is the volume of the cone? Round your answer to the nearest whole number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of cone: 1/3 × b × h. b=base (area of circle on the bottom) and h=height of the cone. Can you do it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha thanx:p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 60

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty sure it's not. What is the area you got for the base?

a diameter of 10 inches and a height of 18 inches. What is the volume of the cone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean the base. Like the circle on the bottom. What was the area of the circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The diameter of 10 is just a line, not the area of the circle. For reference, the area of a circle is \[A=πr ^{2}\] and the diameter/radius ratio is \[Diameter=2x (Radius)\]

thanks

Just in case, the answer would be 150π, or (around) 471.238898038
