Help my minor algebraic problem??
\[x^{2}5.7x10^{-6}C = (.25+x )^{2} 3.5x10^{-6}\]
I'm trying to find x. But I am not getting the answer correctly... mainly because of my algebra lol
you're using two kinds of 'x' terms one is for the variable and the other is for multiplication is that correct?
those are supposed to be -6. and C stands for coulombs... it's a physics problem but i just need help with the mathematics part lol
ok C is just a unit so you can ignore it for now
yes basically lol
i distributed the 3.5 and isolated the x^2. but i still had an awry answer
You'll have to use the quadratic formula because when you expand out the right side, you'll get a quadratic
is there any faster method other than quadratic? because it's expected for me to solve this in like... a minute hahaha
no you can't avoid solving it without using a graphing calculator or the quadratic formula because you have a quadratic on the right side
oh nvm, i found a way to do it without quadratic formula. lol thanks though
ok glad you found a way
