PS 4: What is the difference between the build_coder function and the build_encoder function? They both produce the same output. The hint says I need to use build_coder in build_encoder, but that seems like repeating the same thing to me.

As far as I remember, not much, although I guess it's useful to differentiate between the encoder and the decoder function by naming them differently (although they're pretty much identical in what they actually do).
They do the same thing. On these problem sets there is room for improvement of the given code and implementation, which is another reason why I prefer a non-graded approach to these courses.
Near as I can tell, none. Neither build_encoder or build_decoder are present in the solution.
