How do the graphs of y = 1/x and y = 5/x+6 compare?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

first of all see that both have x terms in denominator and constant in numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the +6 there in the denominator with the x or is it beside?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

then note that graph will be non -linear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 5 makes it 5 times as steep - so if you look at the graph of 1/x, it looks approximately like this....|dw:1360089318246:dw|
