What's the definition of density?
It is mass per unit volume. So the substance with the lowest density has the lowest mass for a given amount of volume. In other words, if you had a bucket full of glass, water, sawdust or sand, which would make the bucket the heaviest?
...and which the lightest? The lightest has the lowest density; the heaviest has the highest density.
