How do you gain access to the free text book for the course?

It's no longer free, they started charging at the beginning of the year. $20

If you are taking the course through EDX it's free.

I am taking the course through edX, how do I access the book for free?

I was just playing arround on the website and here is the link for the book: https://www.edx.org/courses/MITx/3.091x/2013_Spring/book/0/ I accessed it as follows: selected 'View Course" under the course title, on the page that opens, you will see 7 tabs one of which is the book. If you select 'Textbook: Averill" it will bring you to the link I provided. I feel silly for not figuring this out sooner :( Good Luck to everyone taking the class!
