What is the common ratio between the successive height values of ball 1? Ball 2? Ball 3? Ball 1: (1,15)(2,11)(3,7)(4,3)(5,.5) Ball 2: (1,15)(2,14)(3,13)(4,12)(5,11) Ball 3: (1,15)(2,13)(3,11)(4,9)(5,7) I took the measurement of how many times each ball bounces.

Ball 2 and ball 3 are each arithmetic progressions (A.P.) where the common difference, d = ( - 1). But ball 1 is strange. It starts as an A.P. with d = -4 until attempt 5 is made: then the A.P. breaks down. Ball 1 doesn't 'fit' a geometric progression (G.P.), either

what does that mean? is there anything i could round up to?
