Physics Question please help? 2. A block of mass 5kg sits on an inclined plane, which is slowly being raised. The block remains motionless until the angle the plane makes with the horizontal is 22°. At this angle, the block begins to slide down the plane. What is the coefficient of static friction between the plane and the block? I got it to this cos 22(50) = Fwy sin 22(50) = Fwx (Fw is weight) and then... F_net = ma friction - Fwx = ma but this doesnt seem right considering
\[\Large u_k=tan(\theta)\]For a decent explanation as to how this was derived go here: http://www.understandingforce.com/coefficientofstaticfriction.html
I dont understand how this would come about? in this instance?
I can't explain it any better than the site I posted
can you tell me what you got as the answer? some how i ended up with 1.54?
