How would I find the square root?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{50x^4y^8}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50^(1/2)*(x^(4/2))*(y^(8/2))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Edutopia but half of 50 is 25. and 25 *25 isn't 50. thats where im getting confused. the square root of 50..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and how I would write out the answer because I don't believe there is a square root of 50.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not half of 50 tho, its \[50^{1/2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{50}=\sqrt{25*2}=5\sqrt{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so \[x^2y^45\sqrt{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you may have something there :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha. thank you!
