At the library, you find 9 books on a certain topic. The librarian tells you that 55% of the books on this topic have been signed out. How many books does the library have on this topic?

you solve this by finding out what is the percent of books are in the library
if 55 percent gone, than 45% remains (subtract from 100%)
Wouldn't it be 5 books?

so 9/.45 = 20 they have 20 books total
so lets check...55% are checked out so 20* .55 = 11 that would leave 9 in the library (20-11 = 9) did you follow?
So 9 - 20?
Which is 11?
