If two parents with the genotypes Hh and hh have children, what percentage of their children will have hairy arms (dominant)? (

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Take a look at this Punnett Square: |dw:1360117659717:dw| As you can see, the GENOTYPE of the FIRST parent is on TOP, and the genotype of the SECOND parent is on the LEFT side. And we have four squares, with four new genotypes now: (H h) (H h) (h h) (h h) Now, since HAIRY ARMS are DOMINANT, that means that CAPITAL H represents HAIRY ARMS. DOMINANT traits are always shown with CAPITAL letters. So, again, there are four possible genotypes in all, you see. And TWO of the squares have a genotype with a capital H. \[\frac{ 2 }{ 4 } \] is equal to 50%. That means that there's a 50% chance that the child of these two parents will have hairy arms.
