If sugar contains 41.86% carbon and 6.98% hydrogen, what percentage of sugar is oxygen?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is an easy one, if sugar is just a compound with, Carbon, Oxygon, and Hydrogen then the sum of the percent of Carbon, the percent hydrogen and the percent of oxygen are all equal to 1. \[.4186 + .0698 + O = 1\]
