Teo and mona northrop have saved $5500. They want the amont they invest in a mutual fund to be three times the amount they leave in their savings account. How much money should the northrops put in the mutual fund?

Well, divide it into quarters, so 5500/4 = 1375 Then 3 quarters go to mutual and 1 quarter to savings. So, $1375 to the savings, and three times that to metal.
