Will someone please help me?; Which of the following does NOT represent a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any options ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Option A is not a function for it relates 5 with 2 values in co domain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess the following is not function because the 2 value in the domain corresponds to two different set of values means 3 has many images in range set .which violates function defination.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second set of values does not represent a function when x=2 y=1 also when x=2 y=5 .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i confuse between A and B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember for one value of x we should have unique value of y . but for same value of y we can have multiple values of x for example x =2 6 8 6 y= 5 3 2 1 is not a function ! but x=3 4 7 8 y=2 5 2 3 is a function . so in general there should be no repetition in the values of x but y values can repeat .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okayyy i see how that makes sense now! thanks alot! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm actually if y=sqrt root(x)+a there gonna be repetition in x val for example when x=5 y=sqrt(x)+5 y=10, 0 that means x= 5 5 y= 0 10 or am i wrong
