-3(-5w-y)-2(2y+w) Please help simplify?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

start by distributing the -3 into the 5w-y and the -2 into the 2y+w...what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15w+y y-2w? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait um 3y on the first so 15w+3y?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

yup and you have to change the second equation too.. the -2w is fine, but the y is wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay , so 15w+3y and -4y-2w?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

correct (: now combine the two so it would be 15w+3y-4y-2w and combine like terms, what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13w-1y?

OpenStudy (smokeysthename):

correct ((: good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
