Add and simplify. (2x2 – 11x) + (3x2 + 11x – 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. 5x^4-4 b. 6x^2 – 11x – 4 c. 5x^2 – x – 4 d. 5x^2 – 4

hero (hero):

Hint: \((2x^2 + 3x^2) + (11x - 11x) - 4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 5x^2-4 i just wanted to make sure it was right because it counts for like 15 points :P

hero (hero):

That's a lot of points, but they probably made it worth that much because it is something you should definitely know how to do.

hero (hero):

Always place like terms together, and if you're still stuck or doubtful about your steps, you can factor out the variables and write it like this: \((2 + 3)x^2 + (11 - 11)x - 4\)

hero (hero):

Now it is even more obvious
