I am studying a merger in a transport company. I need to know how to calculate the cost of the owner capital in a company that is not quoted. How can i do that in scientific terms?

Mergers invovle two companies where one holes the assets and the other holds the shares of both companies. What cost are you calculating? The first merging company or the second merging company? Or are you trying to find out the total cost of the entire merger?
