In Python, the three ( single or double ) quotes are used for multiple line comments. Single line comments can also be done using a pound sign. The single double quote is used for a string literal like "123", which would be the characters 1, 2 and 3, not their numerical value.

If you include " .... " in a function, on the Python Shell you start typing: function( and nothing displays, if you use ''' description ''', when you start typing: function( the description you typed will be display
