OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the integral from 2 to 5 of (2f(x)+3)dx=17, find the integral from 2 to 5 of f(x)dx.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first part is used to find the integration constant. the second part is easy, but you need the integration constant to write the full equation.

Hint: \[\Large \int_{2}^{5} (2f(x)+3)dx = 17\] is the same as \[\Large 2*\int_{2}^{5} f(x)dx + \int_{2}^{5}3 \ dx = 17\]
