B and C. It is not a whole number because whole numbers consist of the counting numbers that are greater or equal to 0. Integers are the extension of the whole numbers in addition to their additive inverse. -5 belongs in that set because 5 is in the natural numbers and its additive inverse is -5. Rational numbers are those that you can put in the form p/q where p is an integer and q is an integer. -5 = 5/-1 is an example, thus -5 is rational. Irrational numbers are those that are real that cannot be put in the form of p/q. Since I already did that, -5 is not irrational.
