how do you find the horizontal tangent line of y=x^4-2x^2+3

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Well ... if the tangent line is horizontal it has a slope of ... zero! And what does the derivative of a function measure? The slope of the tangent line. Hence you need to find the values of y for for which dy/dx = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Teebhawj: just take derivative of y and let it=0
