The upper surface of a saturated aquifer is the ______________. A. zone of depression B. water perch C. saturated zone D. water table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Opcode

OpenStudy (opcode):

I believe it's D. Water table. Normally it's called ("unconfined aquifer").

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When more resistant rock formations cause a V-shaped valley to spill over instead of cutting through, a _________ forms. A. river B. channel C. delta D. waterfall

OpenStudy (opcode):

This is easy it's waterfall. Just think of the water movement. :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh i get it :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at first i thout it was a

When the water table is higher in surrounding hills than at the site of a well, the well becomes ____________. A. an artesian well B. an aquifer C. a geyser D. a spring

OpenStudy (opcode):

I'm not sure about this one. I think it's D. A spring I know it's NOT: A. An artesian well C. A geyser

OpenStudy (opcode):

It got the better of me :3 So I went to Wikipedia and got: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_table Scrolling down it said: The water table may vary due to seasonal changes in precipitation, evapotranspiration, topography and structural geology. In undeveloped regions with permeable soils that receive sufficient amounts of precipitation, the water table typically slopes toward rivers that act to drain the groundwater away and release the pressure in the aquifer. Springs, rivers, lakes and oases occur when the water table reaches the surface. Springs commonly form on hillsides, where the Earth's slanting surface may "intersect" with the water table. Groundwater entering rivers and lakes accounts for the base-flow water levels in water bodies. So I'm correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhnice :D The percent of a rock that is available to hold water in pore spaces is ___________. A. permeability B. porosity C. perchability D. pressability

OpenStudy (opcode):

Porosity = Absorb liquids. Permeability = Rate substance passes through porous medium. I'd take porosity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eroded materials are carried and transported by a stream as its ______. A. sediment B. load C. discharge D. delta 2 more ik tht its not a

OpenStudy (opcode):

I believe it's B. Load I know that I can't be: C. Discharge D. Delta And you said it wasn't A. So B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

last one The upper surface of a saturated aquifer is the ______________. A. water perch B. water table C. zone of depression D. saturated zone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm i guees still passed thx tho

OpenStudy (opcode):

No wait... Sorry OS was frozen... Sorry :(
