This division of power is a result of the principle of "checks and balances." Should be the correct answer. But since it isn't a choice I'd go with: Limited government, because checks and balances, limited how much the government could interfere. Now let's take a look at: "representative government." Representative government: And elected person chosen by the citizens of the land to make decisions on their behalf & to represent them in the legislative assembly.
