a man travelling southward at 15km/h observes that the wind appears to be coming from west on incresing his speed to 25km/h it appears to be coming from southwest.find direction and speed of the wind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the man is travelling southward and the wind is coming fra southwest, would not the speed decrease?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will definite increase

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the angle in mans direction and the direction of wind must be 45 digree.. so the increase in speed will ocur in such a way .. that forceXcos(45) will be the force of wind with which it will speed up man.. becose this will be the component of force doing work to speed him up... now use this relation nd compare both the speeds nd get the force of wind
