difference between computing and processing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Computing is an extremely general term typically meaning anything relating to computers, from ICT, to programming, to hardware. Processing normally refers specifically to the actions done by the computer (doing complex mathematics, solving problems, crunching data, etc). I've also heard it used as a synonym for programming by some people. Computing can also be used as synonym for processing (as in, 'to compute' for 'to process').
