what is a replication fork?

I think it is a core structural component of DNA synthesis.

a replication fork, as I understand it, is that fork that results when the DNA is seperated. When DNA seperates only a small segment is seperated and the codons attach to the opposites, g attaches to c and etc. The fork is the area of the strand where they are apart and stop.
