So, to think through these sorts of problems, the easy part is realizing that you have 80 degrees and some part of a degree, so the answer will look like: 80.something Also, you have 50 minutes where 60 minutes equals a full degree, so you will be adding on 50/60 or 5/6 of a degree, and then you add on 18/3600 of a degree because there are 3600 seconds in a degree. Think of a degree as an hour.
start by realising 18 seconds is 0.3 of a minute... then decimal value in converting minutes and seconds to decimal degrees 80 + 50.3/60
So, you have 80 + 50/60 + 18/3600
80 + 500/600 + 3/600 80 + 503/600 80.838333333333 80.84
