the price of a small pizza increased from$6 to $8. what is the percent of increase in the cost of pizza? round to the nearest percent, if necessary.
What is the difference between 6 and 8? Or, what is the increase in price. Now that you have the increase in price, what percentage of the original cost is this new increase? percentage increase = \[\frac{ Difference }{ Original} x 100\]
so...33%
Why?
idk, this is hard
:(
Well, what is the difference and the original?
3/4
Remember the word "difference" being used with subtraction? So the difference of $6 and $8 is $2.
yes
2%
???
is it?
look at what @malical type it is all you need difference is 2 and original is 8 Try putting these numbers into the formula there :)
ummm ok
Difference = Final answer - original. Obviously the original = original. For your problem, the final answer was 8 and the original was 6. Difference = 8-6 or 2. Original = 6. Sub those two into the equation and find your answer.
4 right?
no please try again...
gosh
Did you even bother to look at the equation I gave you?
yes
Do you understand what the formula does?
nope
25%/100
????
The formula takes how much the price increases and figures out what percentage that increase is of the original: If price goes from 15->22 then the increase would be 7. 7/12 = .46666 or 46%. Therefore, going from 15->22 is a 46% increase. Another idea is to figure out what 22/15 is. That would give you what percentage above AND including 15 is. (146%) taking out the 100% or 1 remains 46%.
yea its correct
46% is not an answer A. 2% B.33% C.40% D.67%
14% was an example of the question... If price goes from 15->22 then the increase would be 7.
AHHHHHH, THOSE ARENT ANSWERS ON HERE MAN, srry caps lock was on
40% right
hello??????????
no its not 40%
but it says round to to the nearest percent
what did you round off?
@malical said it was 46%
no hE DID NOT :P :P :P READ his post AGAIN PLEASE
i did, now wat
his post was just an example of another question
awww man
ok
as u can see i suck @ math
by the way you were right the FIRST TIME. Answer is 33%
malical just simply asked why :P
