It takes a person 30 minutes to gather 1 basket of fruit. Working at the same rate, how many baskets can 25 people gather in 8 hours?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Every hour one person can gather 2 baskets so every 8 hours a person gathers 8hr*2baskets = x x * how many people working, would be the amount of baskets gathers

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

The way to work these problems is to find the rate that one person produces per unit time, then multiply that by the number of people and the amount of time. 1 person does 1 basket in 30 minutes, or 2 baskets per hour per person. The whole group does 2 baskets per person per hour * 8 hours * 25 persons = ??? baskets (notice that the units canceled out to just give us baskets — if they didn't, we did the problem wrong)
