can anyone please explain the reaction of acids with metals along with examples??? thanks

In general: M + HA --> MA + H2 where M = metal HA = acid think of this as a single displacement reaction.

Acids are oxidising agents. Metals are reducing agents. So a redo reaction takes place, yielding metal ions and hydrgen gas.
