Is it possible to have DNA mutations to be like the X-men (sort of?) I mean, if you have the mutation, theoretically it could result in extra speed or better strength right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as long as you respect the rules of physics ;-) but yes a mutation resulting in higher strength or speed is one of the basis of evolution (together with natural selection of of fitter)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, okay, but does that mean, we could have some of the more slightly stretched powers? Such as slight transformation ability, or maybe magnetic control?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure what you mean by transformation ability (I am afraid to have very little competences in Xmen). for magnetic control the only thing I can think of is the ability to sense magnetic field that some birds have (they use it to migrate) but I can't see how you would generate enough power to control anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By transformation I mean, maybe change eye color, hair color or possible state of matter change?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for color you have the example of the chameleon. So that is possible. for state of matter not sure how you would get it. but you can use a liquid to make an organ very strong using osmosis : think of the strength of plants that can find their way through concrete (to keep on a politically correct example).

Hmm, okay then, thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome.
