OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

The volume of gases NH3, CO, and CH4 adsorbed by one gram of charcoal at 298 K are in the order? i know adsorption is in order of liquefaction of gases. so basically the question is what is the order of liquefaction of the gases?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

correction- its co2. nh3 has hydrogen bonding so it would be first for sure. confused between co2 and ch4

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Think of the bonds and double bonds. and whether there are triple bonds.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

oh got it. co2 has 2 double bonds whereas ch4 has 4 single bonds. so nh3>co2>ch4 right?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

thank you.
