Personification: the attribution of human nature or character to animals, inanimate objects, or abstract notions, especially as a rhetorical figure.

Summer is human, as it lives and dies as do we all, 
It thrives with life, but it takes it as well, 
Heat runs through the veins of summer, giving it strength, 
Though, there will come a time when summer will fall to its rival, 
And to it, winter will come anew...
