Hello, I get this message when trying to download the pdf file for handout lecture 2:
The document “MIT6_00SCS11_lec02.pdf” could not be exported as “MIT6_00SCS11_lec02.pdf”.

Downloading and opening a file don't involve exporting.  Try just downloading the file, not downloading and opening it at the same time, and then open it after the download.

BTW, which app is that message coming from?

Thanks. The message is from Safari on a MacBook Pro  - is this what you mean? I don't have the option to save it without opening - soon as i click on the link it opens it.

Try control clicking on the link, I think that will allow you to directly download the target of a link.

It could be a problem with plugin(s) from Adobe Reader.
You could try to fix this by going to : Your Hard Drive / Library / Internet Plug-ins.

If you see (a) file(s) with PDF in the name like  AdobePDFViewer.plugin
OR AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
drag it/ them to the trash.

Quit and restart Safari to test by opening a PDF.

If it works without the error, you can empty the trash.

 Hope this solves the problem for you.

I dont think you should be doing programming if you cant figure this one out on your own. I think you should probably just quit. Dont even waste your time.
