Why did the Stamp Act anger colonists more than other taxes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to know that the Americans weren't used to being subjugated to the same tax regulations as the citizens in Great Britain were. In return for being protected (remember that question you had earlier?) by Great Britain, they were forced to trade only with Great Britain. The Americans understood this and lived by this rule. When the Stamp Act was issued; however, the Americans felt like they were being treated unfairly, even though the citizens living in Great Britain were already subjugated to the Stamp Act.
