Try reading http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_4/chpt_8/5.html up to the page called "Don't care cells in the Karnaugh map." That should help you solve the problem.

If you've got question, just ask, but please come with concrete examples (such as 'I'm having some troubles optimizing the following K-map: <image of k-map>'). It's always easier to explain something when there's an example.
