Ok now I'm stuck on this....I can see it won't be a whole number. Two trains leave stations 304 miles apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One train travels at 85 miles per hour while the other travels at 105 miles per hour. How long will it take for the two trains to meet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Time=(distance)/(speed) and the closing speed is the addition of the two 85+105 = 190

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i.e. 304/190. in this case you can simplify. 152/95 and further until you reach 8/5

OpenStudy (artfis):

1.6 hours!

OpenStudy (artfis):

Thank you
