fellas! fellas! sal again. looking for help with this function word problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://vvcap.net/db/SkIzkFtsNpdvtm0LKT80.htp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got R(.40) = 6.75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that look right to you guys?

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

you are close... but not quite right...

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

$0.40 per mile, so you need to multiply that by miles driven (d) and add the tolls ($6.75), this will equal R(d).

OpenStudy (jtvatsim):

think of it this way: She gets 0.40 for ever mile driven. So if she drives 1 mile she gets 0.40 If she drives 2 miles she gets 0.80 3 miles gets 1.20 etc. In general you just multiply 0.40 by the miles driven call it d So if she drives d miles she gets 0.40d.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh so, R(d)= .40d+6.75"??

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

correct. day-man... ohuhhhaahhhhh! fighter of the night-man! Champion of the sun! You're a master of karate and friendship to everyone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome thanks! and yes! always sunny amazing <3

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

You gotta pay the troll toll, if you want to get in that boy's hole!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you want the baby boy's hole you gotta pay the troll to get it! troll toll! what he say!? troll toll!! hey, hey! troll toll!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

means she gets 1 dollar for 2.5 miles so 6.75 dollors will be =6.75*2.5=16.875 miles R(d)=0.40*d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think they just want me to write the function, but thank you!

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

@sami-21 I think you misread the question. The (troll) tolls are an extra amount she gets paid on top of $0.40 per mile. You gotta pay the troll toll!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup you are tight .i misread the question . thanx for pointing it out !
