Absolutism was a popular form of government in Europe from 1550 to 1800s because it:

 $\text {2) Citizens had no choice but to follow their government. (Made it a easier to run a country)}$
 $\text {3) I'm not sure. I'd say because with Absolutism government got away with anything.}$
