Solve the system of equations by graphing. x +y =3 y= 2x -15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so to graph the first equation, x+y=3. you're going to put x=0 to find the y intersept (which is 3) then put in y=0 to find the x intercept (which is also 3). so graph the two points (0,3) and (3,0) and connect them. that is your first line. the second equation is in y equals form. so 2/1 is the slope and -15 is the y intercept. graph (0,15) on your graph and take that point and go up two, to the right 1 point and make a point there. keep going up two and over 1 a few times and connect all those points.

(-10, -5)

not what i got when i solved it mathematically

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my next try was (5, -5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

keep trying what i wrote originally and find where the two lines intersect each other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( 1, 2 )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it now I see thank ( 6, -3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is correct
