A parallelogram of length 18 inches has two perpendicular lines drawn to its bases as shown. The rectangle has a length of 11 inches and the triangles on the ends are 30°- 60°- 90° right triangles. What is the length of the short side of the parallelogram? parallelogram with base of 18 inches, 2 perpendicular lines drawn from a base vertex to the opposite base, rectangle formed has a length of 11 inches, triangles formed on the ends of the rectangle are 30 60 90 degree right triangles 5.5 inches 7 inches 9 inches 14 inches
Would you click on the blue DRAW button below and sketch the diagram? Label the points, angle measures, and mark the altitudes. Thanks.
I've got the feeling we are missing out some information? Since your description gives two possibel situations: the 30 degree angle being a corner of the parallellogram (or created by the perpendicular lines) and the same goes for the 60 degree angle. There has to be more info because one if the situations gives the right answer (If I'm correct of course)
@johana Sketching the diagram is essential to success in Geometry. When you get the diagram drawn, I'll be glad to help you.
nvm i got the answer
thanks for trying to help
