Triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle. Side CB is 12 feet 4 inches long. Sides AB and AC are each 0.75 of this length. What is the perimeter of triangle ABC?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, here we go: You know that 1 ft = 12 inches, so 12 ft = 144 inches + 4 inches = 148 Inches = CB Now, that AB and AC = .75CB each just find that. So you know that AB = .75CB and: AC = .75CB And You know that P = AB + CB + AC = .75CB + CB + .75CB = 2.5CB So in the end we get perimeter = P = 2.5CB And we get 2.5*148 = 370 inches So P = 370 Inches: Which means that P = 30ft & 10 inches.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

alternatively, 12 ft 4 in = 12*12 in + 4 in = 144 in + 4 in = 148 in so CB = 148 in

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

take 3/4 of this to get (3/4)*148 = 111 so AC = 111 inches and AB = 111 inches |dw:1360542358666:dw|
