Solve for x.

A. 10.83 B. 22.54 C. 29.91 D. 34.38 I think it is D, but I am only guessing.
Do you know Law of Sines?
Yeah but that's used in the chapter after this one. Like, I know it, but I'm not *supposed* to use it as part of my work for this chapter, for some odd reason.
So you can't use it?
No. It can't be part of my work, which I have to show.
So do you know x is the hypotenuse?
What? As in, x is my hypotenuse? Yes, I know that.
Do you know soh coa toa?
Yeah
Can you use it to solve for x?
I know I can... I'm just having a hard time seeing it.
Use SOH
Alright, I sound dumb, but... \[\theta=\sin 18/x\] ?
no it is: sin(angle) = opposite side / hypotenuse
sin(37degrees) = 18/x? (37 was the given angle)
yep
you can use CAH as well try it
Oh so 29.91
Except, I did that by plugging the answer choices in for x. I don't actually know how to do it. sin37 = 0.602 and then I just divided 18 by answer choices until I got it. I know that's not the "right" way
you can multiply the x over so sin(37)x = 18 then divide by sin(37) from both sides to get x = 18/sin(37)
Oh right! Thanks!
