Problem: Solve the equation 6w+7w^1/2-20= 0 I need help with HOW to do this step by step not just the answer.

Isolate the term raised to the 1/2 power. In other words, solve for 7w^1/2. Then square both sides. That gets rid of the 1/2 power. Solve the quadratic equation. Check all solutions in the original equation because squaring both sides of an equation may introduce extraneous solutions.
