From the information provided in the Copying the Code module, state one example of a preconceived idea that biased scientific thinking and slowed finding the answer to how DNA is a copying mechanism for hereditary material.

With the limited information you have here (ie: they refer to a module that you didnt post) I'm going to assume they are talking about proteins. Namely early geneticist assumed proteins carried the genetic material because the majority of a cells' mass is in the form of proteins.
