What are some Good Topics for a Poem? I preferably write sad ones.. But Im open to any Ideas, Im having writters block.
well you usually write sad one you could write a peom abotu the trail of tears
Maybe a sad love poem since it's close to Valentine's Day and you like to write sad poems. Example: Having loved and lost
I just got over some writers block. Try to find something that means something to you. Like I just wrote a poem about my aunt who commited suicide the day after Valentine's Day. Hope you find something.
write with emotion, think with life, and any ideas are good,.maybe about life, about people,or the world,
There's a list of suggested topics at the following link: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem-topics/ It would be interesting to juxtapose or to blend two seemingly disparate ideas in your poem.
I would say about weather, like rain. Since rain in movies does make it seem a lot more sad.
or get some inspiring quotes and blend them in ur poem in ur own word or feeling...
...I was going to suggest a more comedic approach to writing poems, but it seems you're all going for a dark, depressing kinda poem.
comedy goes good in a poem , but sometimes its hard because if its gonna be dark and with sadness its hard to incorporate comedy..
@shania0703 --> Here's an example of a poem that is, I think, unusually creative. Short with a new idea about the "first obscenity." "The Primer" by Christina Davis She said, I love you. He said, Nothing. Continued at the link: http://www.poetrygrrrl.com/the-primer-by-christina-davis/
Or, a new take on an old idea or belief. Icarus (mythology) has been thought (or his father) to be overambitious and failed in flying around the sun because his wings melted (or something like that). The following poem raises the possibility that Icarus did not fail but just came to the end of his flight. " believe Icarus was not failing as he fell, but just coming to the end of his triumph." See Jack Gilbert's "Failing and Flying" at http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2010/02/23
for a said but funny poem you could do something like 'life is fine' by L.H.
you could write about something that has happened in your life or something youve read in a book or you could write about something that happens in nature. like for example you could write about a tornado or a storm and decribe what you feel when you know one is coming or how it looks outside when its about to happen. you could really turn anything into something sad if writing about sad stuff is what youre good at.
