If you have the formula for the volume of a cylinder handy, we'll knock out this problem.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
V=Bh or V=πr2h
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@Directrix is it C?
Directrix (directrix):
Let me think. Just a second.

radis^2 = 49
46 * 18 = 882
i left pie alone
Directrix (directrix):
882 pi is what I got using V = pi*r^2*h
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im right?
Directrix (directrix):
Yes, you are.

1331?
Directrix (directrix):
Volume = 11 * 11 * 11
What does that equal?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1331

A cone has a base radius of 2 millimeters and a height of 24 millimeters.
What is the volume of the cone?
Directrix (directrix):
You are right again on the cube.

i have to use V = pi*r^2*h
OpenStudy (anonymous):
96pi
Directrix (directrix):
I thought that the formula for the cone volume had a (1/3) in it. We need to look it up.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
am i right?
Directrix (directrix):
I don't know. I thought you were going to look up the cone formula.
V = pi*r^2*h is for a cylinder.
The current problem is about a cone.

a rectangular pyramid. has 1/3 in the formula
OpenStudy (anonymous):
CRAP i thought that said cylinder, i have bad eyes, i 'm tying to work it out now

i think its B.
Directrix (directrix):
lol -> I'm looking everywhere to see what number b is.

96 *.3333 is 31.9968
31.9968 rounded is 32
OpenStudy (anonymous):
im right (hopefully)?
Directrix (directrix):
V = (1/3) pi (2)^2 (24)
V = 32 pi if I did this right.
I don't know where you got the decimals or where the pi went.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
B. is 32
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol sorry

Look at it this way. You got 96 pi with the same variables except the 1/3. So, the answer should be 1/3 of 96 pi which is 32 pi.
32 pi is NOT the same as 32. So, I don't know.
Directrix (directrix):
Right, 32 pi. Don't disregard those pi symbols.
32 is 32 but 32 pi = 100.530964915 ish. A tremendous difference.

i ment to mark A., Not C.

Hold on while I check. If you post another one of these, please start in a new thread. I'm lost in the maze here. :)

@GiGIgo3
On the cone, is this how you set it up:
(1/3)*pi*144*8 ?
I did not get 3260.
