simplify the radical expression cubed radical 125x^6y^9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk how to write the radical sign on here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x^2y^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want me to explain how i got this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so we know since its a cubic function that it is going to be 3rd powers. since 6 is the power of x we know that the multiple will be two and y's multiple 9, will be three (note this part will only work for powers). since 125 needs to be factored we start with an easy number 125---- 25 * 5 / 5*5 Now we can see that 125 is actually 5^3 so we are left with 5 You then repeat the factoring process with 6 and you are left with y^3√6 I WROTE IT WRONG THE FIRST TIME MY BAD

thanks
